Where Can Singapore Students Find Official ESAT Practice Tests and Preparation Guides?

Start with UAT-UK’s Prepare page, then use its ESAT section for the specification, ESAT Guide and official specimen and practice tests. These are different resources: the specification sets the scope, the guides support revision, and the test player introduces the question experience.

The linked ESAT Content Specification explicitly states that it applies to assessment in October 2026 and January 2027. Check that cover statement rather than inferring the version from the download URL, whose folder date is older.

Did you know? Pearson’s UAT-UK page separates specimen tests with explained answers from sample exams with end-of-part answer feedback. Use the desktop materials for the modules your courses actually require. Our existing ESAT module-booking guide handles that course-to-module decision; this page helps you find the preparation resources afterwards.

How should I choose and use the ESAT resources?

A useful preparation folder tells you which session, module and learning task each item belongs to. It need not contain every paper you can find.

Check the specification before revising from an archive

The reviewed specification lists five modules: Mathematics 1, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics 2. It says all modules assume Mathematics 1 content. Read the relevant topic lists rather than assuming a familiar school-subject name means the scope is identical.

Make a short checklist of secure topics, uncertain topics and topics you have not yet studied. Where you use older material, compare it against the current specification first. An old file can be useful practice without being a complete map of the current test.

Use explained specimens to inspect reasoning

Pearson’s specimen links are organised by module and provide explained answers. Begin there if the immediate difficulty is understanding how a question works. Attempt the problem before reading the explanation, then identify the point where your approach diverged.

Separate a missing concept from an inefficient method or an incorrect reading of the problem. The next step might be a small algebra repair rather than another full science paper. Keep the correction in your own words so you can check the reasoning again without the answer open.

Use the sample player for a timing check

Pearson explains that its separate module samples are combined into the chosen test on the day. The specification gives each module 27 questions and 40 minutes, with no transfer of unused time between modules; calculators are not permitted.

Use those conditions when you deliberately want a realistic timing exercise. In a learning session, you can take more time to understand an idea, but label it accordingly. Also explore the player’s navigation and accessibility features so the interface is not a new task on the day.

Do not convert practice feedback into an admission score

UAT-UK says its specimen and sample tests do not award a scaled score and warns that practice performance need not reflect examination performance. Use the feedback to identify work to do, not to invent a conversion from a raw percentage to a live ESAT result.

Keep the course’s current requirements beside your revision record. Practice materials cannot establish which modules you must book, which sitting applies to you or whether an application will succeed. Resolve those questions through the course and official registration instructions.

What should I open first?

Confirm your modules, read the specification’s assessment-session statement and mark one topic needing attention. Use an explained specimen to examine your reasoning, then a sample test when timing is the question you want to answer.

For the separate application decision, use which ESAT modules to book and overseas university admission-test requirement checks.

Explore the connected learning guides

Choose the question that brought you here. Open one useful guide, try a small task, and stop when you have what you need.

Take one question further

The same learning habit can travel across subjects, while each subject keeps its own methods. These routes help you notice a difficulty, understand one part of it, and return to something you can do.

A word is familiar, but using it is difficult.

Move from recognising a word to retrieving it in a new context. Understand vocabulary plateaus.

Try it without the guide: Choose one word you already know. Close the guide and use it in a new sentence. Explain why it fits; try another context tomorrow.

A piece of writing has ideas, but the reader loses the thread.

Make the order of events and the links between sentences clear. Explore composition writing.

Try it without the guide: Choose one short paragraph. Read the relevant explanation, close it, and revise the paragraph. Ask someone to tell you what happened and why.

The Mathematics seems familiar, but marks still disappear.

Find the first point where the working stops being reliable. Find Secondary 4 A-Math mark leakage.

Try it without the guide: For a Secondary 4 A-Math question you have attempted, locate the first uncertain line. Repair that step, then try a comparable question without the worked answer.

A Science fact is remembered, but the explanation is incomplete.

Connect the evidence to a scientific idea and the resulting change. Follow the Primary Science learning route.

Try it without the guide: Choose a familiar Primary Science example. Explain the evidence, the idea and the result without notes. Then change one condition and explain your prediction.

Two accounts of the world seem to disagree.

Check the question, source, date and evidence before combining claims. Explore the World Knowledge research library.

Try it without the guide: Take one claim. Find the source best placed to support it, note its date, and state what remains uncertain. Return to your original question.

There is plenty of help, but independence is hard to see.

Check what the learner can understand and do after support is removed. Understand how education works.

Try it without the guide: Choose one small task the child has practised. Agree on a calm, brief attempt without prompts. Use what happens to choose one next step, then stop.

For the structure behind these connections, read the eduKateSingapore runtime manifest and the eduKate ecosystem boot contract. The reader map describes public navigation; those manifests preserve the wider ownership and return rules.
