How Do International Students Update a Student’s Pass Address or Passport?

Student’s Pass holders who move to a new local address or receive a new passport should start with ICA’s Change of Passport Particulars or Residential Address page. ICA currently requires either change to be reported within 14 days and routes both updates through its official e-Service.

For a passport update, the e-Service asks for an image of the new passport biodata page. For a residential-address update, a holder with a valid Singpass can use the e-Service; ICA says a student who cannot complete the address update online should contact ICA for assistance.

A new address or passport number is not the same as changing the name or photograph on the Student’s Pass. Those personal-particulars changes use a separate replacement procedure. Check which fact changed before opening a form so the update reaches the correct ICA service.

What should I check?

What changed: passport, address or identity details?

Use the passport/address page for a new passport number or local residence. A name or photo change belongs to ICA’s change-of-particulars route. A new course or school can require a transfer or new Student’s Pass application instead, so do not combine unrelated changes into one assumption.

When does the reporting period start?

ICA states that the holder must report within 14 days of the change in passport particulars or place of residence. Record the date the new passport was issued or the date the student changed residence, then complete the appropriate e-Service without waiting for a school term to end.

What should be ready before logging in?

For a passport change, prepare a clear image of the new biodata page. For an address change, confirm the complete local address and Singpass access. Keep the existing Student’s Pass details and the school’s current student record available in case ICA asks for clarification.

Should the school be updated too?

Yes, a school record and an ICA immigration record serve different purposes. Updating ICA does not prove that the education institution has changed its contact, emergency or correspondence details. Follow the school’s own official student-record process as a separate step.

What should I do next?

Write down exactly what changed and the date it changed. Complete ICA’s official e-Service within the stated period, save the acknowledgement, and update the education institution separately. If the online route fails, use ICA’s contact option rather than creating a second, different application.
