Where Can International Students Find ICA Student’s Pass Loss and Damage Instructions?

If a valid physical Student’s Pass card has been lost, damaged or defaced, use ICA’s Loss/Damage of Student’s Pass page. ICA currently says the holder should apply for a replacement in person within seven days and should read the live document and fee requirements before going to the ICA Services Centre.

This route is for a valid physical card. It is not automatically the right route when the problem is simply downloading or opening a digital Student’s Pass. ICA has issued Student’s Passes digitally since 27 February 2023, so a retrieval problem should be checked against ICA’s digital-pass issuance and retrieval instructions first.

Prepare the valid travel document and a letter from the education institution confirming current registration. For a lost card, ICA’s page also lists a statutory declaration or original police report explaining the loss. Take the current official page as the checklist, because incomplete evidence may delay the replacement process.

What should I check?

Is the pass still valid?

ICA’s loss/damage procedure is written for a Student’s Pass that is still valid. If studies have ended, the pass has expired, or the holder is leaving the course, check renewal or cancellation instructions instead of assuming a replacement is required.

What evidence does ICA ask for?

Use the live list. It currently includes the holder’s valid travel document, a letter from the education institution confirming current registration, and—when the card is lost—a statutory declaration or original police report. ICA may request more evidence where necessary.

What happens after the replacement procedure?

ICA now issues the replacement Student’s Pass digitally. The holder receives retrieval instructions after completing the procedure. Keep the registered email accessible and check the official FileSG, MyICA or Singpass route rather than relying on an image saved from another person.

What if the old card is found later?

ICA states that a physical card reported lost must be surrendered for cancellation if it is later recovered. Check the live page for the current period and handover instruction; do not keep using a card that has already been reported lost.

What should I do next?

Tell the school immediately, confirm that the pass is still valid, and collect the school letter and identity evidence. Open ICA’s loss/damage page before travelling to check the current service hours, fee and document wording. Save the replacement receipt and the email used for digital-pass retrieval.
