Where Can Singapore Students Check UK CAS Information?

Start with the GOV.UK Student visa course page. It explains that a licensed student sponsor sends the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) reference after making the relevant offer, and that the reference is needed before a Student visa application can be made.

Then compare the sponsor’s CAS information with your passport, course and payment records. GOV.UK’s document checklist treats the CAS as one required part of a wider application; other evidence can depend on age, course, nationality and circumstances.

Did you know a CAS is not a paper certificate and is not a visa decision? Official sponsor guidance describes it as a virtual record with a unique reference number. A university offer, a CAS assignment and immigration approval are separate milestones, so check each through its own official source.

What should I check before using a CAS?

Separate the offer from the CAS

An admissions offer explains the academic place and any conditions. The CAS is the sponsor’s immigration record for the course. Follow the institution’s official sequence for meeting offer conditions, accepting the place and completing its CAS checks; do not assume an accepted UCAS choice automatically creates the CAS.

Use the UK student sponsor register guide to verify the provider route. If the institution has not issued the reference, ask its international-student or visa team what remains outstanding rather than using an offer number in the visa form.

Read the sponsor’s record carefully

Compare your name and passport details with the information supplied by the sponsor. Check the institution, course title and level, study dates, tuition information and any evidence the sponsor says it used. A small mismatch can require the sponsor to correct its record or explain the right next step.

Keep the CAS statement or email with your supporting documents, but use the unique reference only in the official application. If something changed after assignment—such as a passport, course or start date—contact the sponsor before deciding that an old record is still usable.

Check timing and route

The GOV.UK course page gives the current period in which the visa application must be made after receiving the CAS. Recheck that live rule close to submission and also check when an overseas application may be lodged before the course starts. Do not calculate from an old blog post.

Students under 18 or those applying from inside the UK may face different instructions. Start from the Student visa overview, choose the route that matches the applicant’s real location and status, and let that route determine the evidence list.

Complete the other immigration checks

A CAS does not replace financial evidence, English-language evidence, parental consent or other documents that may apply. GOV.UK’s checklist also routes some postgraduate students in sensitive subjects to Academic Technology Approval Scheme requirements.

If the course may need ATAS, use our ATAS source guide and the current GOV.UK service. Keep the CAS, visa application and later eVisa access as separate checkpoints rather than one combined approval.

What is the next useful step?

Use the sponsor’s own CAS instructions together with the GOV.UK course page. Our overseas student-visa source guide explains the wider admission–immigration distinction; this article only helps you find and check the CAS record.

For the broader UK application path, continue to the UCAS applications from Singapore guide, then return to the institution and GOV.UK for current case-specific instructions.
