Start with the Law School Admission Council’s preparation page for the Law School Admission Test (LSAT), then follow its link to LawHub. LSAC recommends using the official practice tests and tutorial videos to become familiar with the test’s content and interface. Candidates with JD Services credentials can use them to sign in.
For available resources, read LawHub’s account and resource overview. It distinguishes resources included with a free account from the larger subscription library. Check the current resource list before choosing a product; you do not need to assume every item shown on a preparation website is included with every account.
Did you know? Practising the interface and practising the reasoning are related but different tasks. LSAC’s practice-materials guide describes self-paced and simulated exam modes. Use a mode that fits the session’s purpose, and record it when comparing practice results. A practice score is not an official LSAT result or a law-school offer.

Which official source should I use?
| Your question | Official source | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Where should I start? | LSAC: Prepare for the LSAT | Official practice, tutorial videos and interface familiarity. |
| Where do I access LawHub? | LawHub | The official platform and sign-in route. |
| What resources are included? | LawHub resource overview | Free-account resources versus the subscription library. |
| How should I check an external provider? | Official LSAT Content Licensees | Licensed content is not the same as LSAC endorsing a provider’s wider services. |
How should I choose and use official LSAT practice?
Choose a concrete task before opening a test: learn the controls, examine a reasoning mistake or attempt a timed simulation. That small decision makes the practice record much easier to interpret afterwards.
Learn the controls before measuring your pace
LSAC explains that LawHub practice lets you work with actions such as selecting and eliminating responses, highlighting passages and setting screen preferences. Use its tutorial videos and official interface to learn those operations before drawing conclusions from your speed.
Keep a short list of interface questions from your first session. Were you uncertain how to mark an answer, navigate or change a display preference? Resolve the control issue separately from the reasoning question, so a technical hesitation does not get mislabelled as a reading weakness.
Label self-paced work and simulations honestly
The practice-materials page describes self-paced and simulated exam modes, practice history and scoring feedback. These tools support different activities. A session paused for explanation should remain a learning session in your notes, not be treated as equivalent to a timed attempt.
Record the test or set used, mode, timing conditions and whether you had seen the material before. When reviewing, write why the chosen answer seemed plausible and what changed your conclusion. A useful review produces a specific next task rather than only another total.
Check the account’s actual resource allowance
LawHub’s overview lists several full Official LSAT PrepTests, a practice Argumentative Writing prompt, drills and lessons for free-account users. It separately describes the expanded resources available with LawHub Advantage.
Open the current description before purchasing anything and distinguish a practice writing prompt from the official writing task required by your testing process. Availability and product terms can change. Use the provider’s current wording rather than an old list of test numbers or another candidate’s subscription screenshot.
Distinguish licensed material from endorsed coaching
The LawHub marketplace identifies Official LSAT Content Licensees. Its disclaimer explains that third-party products and websites operate independently and that their content and terms are not provided or endorsed by LSAC. A listing should not become a guarantee about coaching quality or outcomes.
For the actual appointment, use our separate international LSAT dates and scheduling guide. For transcripts and recommendations, use the LSAC Credential Assembly Service guide. Opening practice materials completes neither of those administrative tasks.
What should I do next?
Open one official practice resource and choose its purpose before starting. After reviewing, identify one reasoning or interface issue to work on next. Keep preparation, test scheduling, required writing and law-school applications as separate parts of your plan.
