Where Can Singapore Students Find UK eVisa Access and Passport-Update Instructions?

Use GOV.UK’s eVisa guide and its view-and-share service instructions. An eVisa is the digital record of your UK immigration status and conditions, accessed through a UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) account. Singapore students should use the official guide to identify the correct account and task.

Did you know updating a UKVI account is not the same as changing immigration permission? The account-update page says the service updates account details, not a visa or citizenship application. Keep a passport update separate from any application to obtain or extend permission.

For a new passport or changed contact details, follow the account-update instructions. If the eVisa itself shows incorrect information, use the separate error-reporting guidance. Before travel, also read travelling with an eVisa; the passport in your account and the information supplied to your carrier need careful checking.

Which task actually needs attention?

Check that you can access the right record

The view-and-share instructions explain which sign-in identifiers can be used and the need to access the account’s phone number or email. If you cannot sign in, follow the linked account-recovery route rather than assuming that creating another account will resolve the problem.

Check the name, status and conditions displayed against your decision information. Keep a note of the issue if something does not match. A university login, application reference or admission offer is not a substitute for checking the actual UKVI record.

Treat a passport change as an account-maintenance task

The update guidance covers passports, contact details and other personal information. It also says that a name or passport change cannot be made through that service while a visa application decision is pending. Read the applicable restrictions before starting.

Put the old and new passport information beside the account details and follow the instructions for your circumstances. Save the update confirmation and recheck the record. If your situation does not fit the service, use the help route on GOV.UK rather than changing unrelated fields to make a form proceed.

Distinguish an incorrect record from lost account access

The error-reporting page covers problems such as a wrong date of birth or immigration status, or being unable to obtain a share code despite seeing the eVisa. It directs ordinary detail changes and account recovery to different services.

Describe the problem precisely: what the record shows, what should be shown and which step fails. Keep sensitive identity documents within the official process. If a university team is helping, explain the issue without treating the school as the authority that can alter your immigration status.

Check the travel record before the airport

GOV.UK’s travel guidance asks you to check your account’s current passport and personal details, the eVisa status and the passenger information given to the carrier. It also distinguishes an eVisa from an electronic travel authorisation (ETA); these are not interchangeable documents.

Make this a pre-departure task, especially after renewing a passport during a visit to Singapore. Follow the page’s instructions for changes made outside the UK. Keep any unresolved account or record problem separate from your class timetable, and seek the official support route before assuming the journey is ready.

Your next step: name the task before choosing the service

Decide whether you need access, a detail update, an error correction or a travel check. Open the corresponding GOV.UK page and verify the resulting record. Keep university enrolment and any immigration application on separate checklists; updating an account does not itself grant new permission.

For the wider government application routes, continue with the overseas student visa source guide. The Singapore school pathways collection connects earlier school and university decisions.
