Where Can ASEAN Students Find Singapore MOE ASEAN Scholarship Applications?

Did you know? Singapore’s Ministry of Education (MOE) has an ASEAN Scholarship for school-level study, and it is not the same award as the ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarships offered by universities. Start at MOE’s official ASEAN Scholarships page. Select the student’s country and current intake before reading the eligibility requirements.

The scholarship is designed for selected students from participating ASEAN countries to study in Singapore at the secondary or pre-university stage. Age bands, school grades, programme duration and application dates can differ between country-specific offers. Check these before creating an application rather than assuming every ASEAN student uses one common deadline.

When the correct application is open, use the official Tuition Grant & Scholarships portal for scholarship applicants, accessed through the MOE portal homepage. Register with the permitted sign-in method and submit the application within the announced window. Completing a form is not a scholarship award, school-placement guarantee or immigration approval.

How families can check the correct route

Start with citizenship and the intended school level

The MOE ASEAN Scholarship is not a blanket award for every child already attending school in Singapore. Its country pages specify the eligible nationalities and school levels, such as entry to Secondary 3 or Pre-University 1 where offered. A child’s current grade in their home system matters as much as the age stated in the notice.

Read the current criteria for academic results, English proficiency and co-curricular records. Ask MOE through its published channel if the student has moved countries or follows an uncommon curriculum. Do not assume a degree scholarship’s eligibility terms apply to a secondary-school applicant.

Check the academic year before relying on a deadline

The Singapore Embassy in Hanoi announced the ASEAN Scholarship for Vietnam for academic year 2027 in January 2026, with applications closing in February 2026. That window has ended. It illustrates why a page indexed under “2027” may refer to selection conducted the previous year, not an application that remains open throughout 2027.

Other nationalities can have different schedules, assessment venues and arrival stages. Read your country’s official announcement for the next cycle rather than transplanting dates or age ranges from Vietnam, Thailand or the Philippines.

Use the official account and complete submission

MOE’s Tuition Grant & Scholarships website has different areas for grant recipients and scholarship candidates. Select the scholarship-applicant route, not the undergraduate tuition-grant application. Follow the portal’s instructions to create or access the permitted account and complete the country-specific scholarship form.

Keep the acknowledgement and application number. Where selection tests, interviews or further evidence are required, follow MOE’s official notices. A completed initial application only establishes that the request was submitted, not that a student has been shortlisted.

Do not confuse MOE ASEAN Scholarships with undergraduate awards

Several Singapore universities use the name “ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship” for eligible incoming degree students. For example, NUS considers qualifying freshmen through its own undergraduate admission process. That is separate from the MOE school-level scholarship leading towards pre-university study.

Check which institution issues the scholarship and where the student would study. An undergraduate award page cannot substitute for the school scholarship’s country-specific application, just as winning a school award does not guarantee a later university scholarship.

Separate the award from enrolment and immigration

Any scholarship offer has conditions about the study period, renewal, support and responsibilities. Read the written terms before accepting. Selected students then follow the applicable school onboarding and immigration arrangements through official channels; eligibility for a scholarship alone does not establish permission to enter Singapore or study at any chosen school.

Your next step

Open MOE’s ASEAN Scholarships index and select your country. Record the intake, grade/age eligibility and stated application window. If the exercise is open, follow the MOE scholarship-applicant portal; if closed, look for a newly announced cycle instead of submitting outdated forms.
