Start with the NUS Registrar’s Letters page. It separates proof of current enrolment from certification of an awarded qualification. Current and graduating students can generate a Student Status Letter through myEduRec; graduates seeking certification should follow the alumni instructions.
Newly conferred graduates retain access to generate a status letter for up to 30 calendar days after conferment. For a particular request, check the Registrar’s current guidance and ask the receiving organisation which document it accepts. A status letter, transcript and degree certificate serve different purposes.
Before requesting anything, write down what you need to prove. Is it current enrolment, the qualification awarded, or your academic results? That one sentence helps you choose a document and avoids sending a useful-looking PDF that does not answer the recipient’s actual question.

Practical checks before you act
Clarify the recipient’s request
Ask the organisation to name the document and the information it needs. For example, proof that you are enrolled is a different request from proof of your marks. Keep the wording of that request beside you when selecting a letter.
Use the route for your student category
Read the relevant current-student or alumni section. Follow its linked guidance instead of an old screenshot from another student. If your programme has a different support route, use the contact instructions on the official page.
Review the PDF before sending
As a practical check, compare the displayed name, programme and relevant dates with what the recipient asked for. If something is unclear, seek clarification from the university rather than editing the official document yourself.
Plan around your deadline
Leave time to resolve questions about the required format. Keep the request confirmation and a copy of the recipient’s instructions. If a deadline is close, explain the exact document needed and ask the university which route is appropriate.
