Where Can Singapore Students Find Common App School Report Information?

Start with the Common App definitions for school forms, then open each university’s requirements in your Common App account. The School Report is a document handled by a school counsellor or another authorised school official; it is separate from the student’s application answers, essay and teacher evaluations.

Check three things immediately: whether the university requires the School Report, which supporting documents it expects, and its deadline. If a Mid Year Report or Final Report is also required, note that these belong to later stages and should not be treated as duplicates of the first School Report.

For a Singapore student, the practical next step is to share the university list and deadlines with the school office early. Your school controls its own preparation timeline, while each university controls what it requires and when it must arrive. A Common App form being available does not mean every university uses every form.

What should students and parents check?

Start with the receiving university

Open the university’s requirements inside Common App and confirm the entry term. Requirements can differ across universities and application plans. Make a simple checklist showing the School Report, transcript, counsellor recommendation, teacher evaluations and any later reports as separate lines.

Know the report sequence

The School Report begins the school-document route and normally travels with the school profile and transcript information. The Mid Year Report is used when updated semester or trimester grades become available. The Final Report comes after a student has accepted an offer and records final results for the enrolling institution. Common App says submitting the Final Report closes the remaining school-report workflow, so it should not be sent early.

Give the school enough lead time

Singapore schools may have internal request forms, document-release rules or earlier cut-offs. Ask which staff member acts as counsellor, what information the school needs from the student, and how predicted or mid-year results are handled. A university deadline is not automatically the school’s request deadline.

Check completion without duplicating submissions

Use the Common App status display and the university’s applicant portal for confirmation. If a document still appears missing after reasonable processing time, ask the school official and the university which route to use. Do not upload unofficial replacements or ask several people to send the same report unless the university instructs you to do so.

What is the best next step?

Create one row per university with its School Report requirement, counsellor deadline, transcript rule, Mid Year Report status and Final Report status. Then send that list to the authorised school contact. This keeps the applicant’s job—requesting and monitoring—separate from the school official’s job of preparing and submitting official records.

The same learning habit can travel across subjects, while each subject keeps its own methods. These routes help you notice a difficulty, understand one part of it, and return to something you can do.

A word is familiar, but using it is difficult.

Move from recognising a word to retrieving it in a new context. Understand vocabulary plateaus.

Try it without the guide: Choose one word you already know. Close the guide and use it in a new sentence. Explain why it fits; try another context tomorrow.

A piece of writing has ideas, but the reader loses the thread.

Make the order of events and the links between sentences clear. Explore composition writing.

Try it without the guide: Choose one short paragraph. Read the relevant explanation, close it, and revise the paragraph. Ask someone to tell you what happened and why.

The Mathematics seems familiar, but marks still disappear.

Find the first point where the working stops being reliable. Find Secondary 4 A-Math mark leakage.

Try it without the guide: For a Secondary 4 A-Math question you have attempted, locate the first uncertain line. Repair that step, then try a comparable question without the worked answer.

A Science fact is remembered, but the explanation is incomplete.

Connect the evidence to a scientific idea and the resulting change. Follow the Primary Science learning route.

Try it without the guide: Choose a familiar Primary Science example. Explain the evidence, the idea and the result without notes. Then change one condition and explain your prediction.

Two accounts of the world seem to disagree.

Check the question, source, date and evidence before combining claims. Explore the World Knowledge research library.

Try it without the guide: Take one claim. Find the source best placed to support it, note its date, and state what remains uncertain. Return to your original question.

There is plenty of help, but independence is hard to see.

Check what the learner can understand and do after support is removed. Understand how education works.

Try it without the guide: Choose one small task the child has practised. Agree on a calm, brief attempt without prompts. Use what happens to choose one next step, then stop.
