Where Can Students Replace Lost Pearson Edexcel Certificates?

Did you know? Pearson’s replacement documents page explains what to request after losing an Edexcel qualification certificate. For qualifications including GCSE, International GCSE, GCE AS/A Level and International Advanced Level, it lists an official Certifying Statement of Results rather than an identical replacement certificate.

First check the awarding body, exact qualification and examination year. If you never received the original certificate, ask your exams officer: Pearson distinguishes that situation from its replacement-document service for qualifications awarded over 12 months ago.

Then read Pearson’s application information for identity evidence, third-party consent, costs and delivery. Before ordering, ask the receiving university or employer what document and delivery route it needs; an official replacement record and acceptance for a particular application are separate questions.

What to check before requesting a Pearson record

Confirm which organisation holds the results

Read the awarding-body name on any surviving results statement or school record. “IGCSE” or “A-Level” is not enough to identify the responsible organisation. Pearson Edexcel, Cambridge International and Singapore-Cambridge qualifications should not be routed to one another’s document services.

If you cannot identify the board, ask the former school or exam centre what it entered you for. Gather the school name, examination session and subjects as accurately as possible. This can make the enquiry more useful than repeatedly trying forms with an uncertain qualification selected.

Know why the new document may look different

Pearson explains that a Certifying Statement of Results is an official document replacing the lost evidence, but may not resemble the original certificate. Its document-type list separates this from replacement certificates or other records for different qualifications.

Ask the receiver to confirm its document requirement before paying. Do not describe a statement as a photocopy or promise that every organisation must accept it for every purpose. If the institution wants evidence sent directly, check the available delivery arrangement rather than assuming your uploaded personal copy will satisfy it.

Prepare identity and consent carefully

The application instructions distinguish students applying for themselves from someone applying on a learner’s behalf, including a family member. Third-party requests require the learner’s documentation and consent under Pearson’s stated process. Read the current checklist rather than assuming a parent can use the student’s identity without the additional steps.

Match the application details with the examination record and explain discrepancies through the official process. For uncertainty about a name or centre detail, ask Pearson what evidence it needs. Send identity documents only through the instructed channel and keep a copy of the request reference.

Plan for processing as well as delivery

Pearson’s application page separates processing from delivery and describes qualifications for which retrieval can take longer. Check the current service options and total charge before ordering; a priority option should not be treated as a guaranteed arrival date.

If a university deadline comes first, ask what interim evidence it will accept. Pearson’s separate Confirmation of Provisional Results service covers qualifying recent results for universities outside the UK. It is not the retrieval route for an older lost certificate; check the service’s listed examination series and recipient conditions.

What should students do next?

Identify the qualification and exam year, confirm the recipient’s evidence requirements, then choose the Pearson service that matches both. Review identity, delivery and current payment instructions before submitting. Retain the application reference so that any follow-up relates to the same request.
