Where Can I Find LASALLE Diploma Portfolio and Audition Requirements?

Begin with LASALLE College of the Arts’ official diploma admissions page. Select the exact course under its portfolio/audition section: a design portfolio, a dance or music audition, and an audio-production workshop involve different evidence and preparation. The course description—not a general arts checklist—owns the requirement.

For the August 2027 diploma intake, LASALLE currently displays an application window beginning on 1 October 2026, a general apply-by date of 1 November 2026 and a later published deadline for Diploma in Music. Follow LASALLE’s application instructions to confirm how to upload documents and respond to any workshop or interview invitation.

Did you know? The admissions page describes separate academic entry conditions for the existing GCE O-Level cohort and for the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) from the 2028 intake onwards. Do not apply the future SEC G2/G3 grade mapping to a student whose admission cycle is still assessed under the older qualifications.

What to check before you apply

First choose the specific creative discipline

The LASALLE course selector is the key step many applicants miss. Fine Arts, Graphic Design and Experiences, Dance, Music, Audio Production and Performance do not share one uniform assessment. Some require original visual work, while others focus on a prepared performance, creative exercise, technical workshop or subsequent discussion.

Open the requirements for the actual diploma title and read every instruction about medium, file type, size, timing and presentation. Do not follow a checklist for a programme that has been renamed or retired; the current August 2027 course list is the better point of reference.

What should go into a portfolio?

For design-related diplomas the school publishes discipline-specific examples and asks students to show creative development, process and their own contribution. For some portfolio-based courses it describes carefully chosen original pieces, with the exact number differing between programmes. This is why borrowing a friend’s template with a fixed image count can be misleading.

LASALLE asks applicants to present their own work and cautions against copied or AI-assisted material in the relevant portfolio sections. Annotate a genuine sketch, prototype, photograph, material experiment or revision with concise evidence of your thinking. If a team project appears, identify your own role rather than implying sole authorship.

How does an audition differ from a workshop?

A dance applicant may be asked to prepare a self-choreographed solo and demonstrate movement tasks. Music applicants may be asked for a video audition and instrument-appropriate repertoire. Audio-production applicants can be guided through a workshop assessing practical listening, mixing or signal-flow thinking.

The purpose of advance reading is to prepare for the actual task, not to manufacture an impressive unrelated portfolio. Pay attention to whether an international applicant can attend an online audition or workshop and wait for formal instructions on the booked date, format and required equipment.

Separate EAE, normal admission and future SEC changes

The early-admissions exercise for August 2027 had an application period in May 2026. That EAE period is not the same as the regular October 2026 intake application route. A conditional early offer, ordinary application, audition invitation and final enrolment each represent a different stage.

For secondary students thinking ahead, the admissions page marks SEC-based diploma criteria as applicable from the 2028 intake. It does not mean every G level, subject combination or school offering will automatically qualify. Read the correct qualification table and any programme-specific requirements for your own graduating cohort.

Take one question further

The same learning habit can travel across subjects, while each subject keeps its own methods. These routes help you notice a difficulty, understand one part of it, and return to something you can do.

A word is familiar, but using it is difficult.

Move from recognising a word to retrieving it in a new context. Understand vocabulary plateaus.

Try it without the guide: Choose one word you already know. Close the guide and use it in a new sentence. Explain why it fits; try another context tomorrow.

A piece of writing has ideas, but the reader loses the thread.

Make the order of events and the links between sentences clear. Explore composition writing.

Try it without the guide: Choose one short paragraph. Read the relevant explanation, close it, and revise the paragraph. Ask someone to tell you what happened and why.

The Mathematics seems familiar, but marks still disappear.

Find the first point where the working stops being reliable. Find Secondary 4 A-Math mark leakage.

Try it without the guide: For a Secondary 4 A-Math question you have attempted, locate the first uncertain line. Repair that step, then try a comparable question without the worked answer.

A Science fact is remembered, but the explanation is incomplete.

Connect the evidence to a scientific idea and the resulting change. Follow the Primary Science learning route.

Try it without the guide: Choose a familiar Primary Science example. Explain the evidence, the idea and the result without notes. Then change one condition and explain your prediction.

Two accounts of the world seem to disagree.

Check the question, source, date and evidence before combining claims. Explore the World Knowledge research library.

Try it without the guide: Take one claim. Find the source best placed to support it, note its date, and state what remains uncertain. Return to your original question.

There is plenty of help, but independence is hard to see.

Check what the learner can understand and do after support is removed. Understand how education works.

Try it without the guide: Choose one small task the child has practised. Agree on a calm, brief attempt without prompts. Use what happens to choose one next step, then stop.
