Where Can I Check SUSS Part-Time Degree Admission Requirements?

Use SUSS’s part-time undergraduate admission criteria, then open the page for your intended degree. Part-time entry is not simply the full-time school-leaver route with evening classes: the published criteria include qualification, residence, age and work-experience conditions.

Did you know? SUSS currently lists a minimum age of 21, alongside two years of full-time work experience or current full-time employment, subject to its published exemptions and other requirements. Read the footnotes and exemption section before deciding you are eligible—or ruling yourself out.

Your next step is to compare your circumstances with the particular programme and its intake instructions. Use the part-time application guide for submission steps and documents. Meeting minimum requirements permits consideration; it does not guarantee selection or a place in the degree you want.

Practical checks before you act

Read the qualification route and footnotes

Write the exact name of your completed qualification, its awarding institution and completion date. Compare that record with the accepted qualifications and explanatory notes. Do not shorten an advanced, specialist or conversion diploma to simply “diploma” if that hides the distinction the university needs to assess.

The criteria page also identifies cases where further evidence or individual assessment may be relevant. If your award is not clearly covered, ask SUSS which route applies. An online discussion about somebody else’s admission is not confirmation that a differently named award is equivalent.

Check work experience without guessing an exemption

Make a dated record of employment periods, the basis on which you work and any service history relevant to the application. Use that record to read the eligibility footnotes and the supporting-document instructions. If a category is unclear, describe the arrangement to SUSS rather than deciding its classification yourself.

SUSS also publishes possible age and work-experience exemptions involving company sponsorship or relevant current employment, with supporting evidence and university assessment. Treat this as an assessment route, not automatic permission to bypass a condition. Put an exemption question to admissions with the documents it requests.

Open the programme page before choosing an intake

Find the exact degree title under the part-time programme list. Read its additional entry conditions and curriculum, then check whether its intake and application period match the general guide. SUSS says most part-time undergraduate programmes have January and July intakes, but directs applicants to individual programme periods.

A promotional banner is not enough to establish that your intended programme is currently accepting applications. If pages appear to describe different cycles, ask admissions which intake your submission would be considered for before paying or planning a start date.

Plan documents, assessment and study commitments separately

Use the application guide’s document instructions to organise qualification records and any required employment evidence. Check whether English-language or other supporting evidence applies to your qualification and programme. Keep a separate note of anything you have asked the university to clarify.

Read the programme structure alongside your work and family calendar. Check the stated learning arrangements and ask the programme team about any essential attendance commitments you cannot confirm from the page. Flexibility is useful only when the actual study requirements fit the time you can reliably protect.

Your next step

Make a four-part record: qualification route, age/work position, programme-specific conditions and intended intake. Resolve unclear eligibility with SUSS before treating an application as straightforward. Keep admission and any fee subsidy or financial-aid application as separate checks, each governed by its own current conditions.

The same learning habit can travel across subjects, while each subject keeps its own methods. These routes help you notice a difficulty, understand one part of it, and return to something you can do.

A word is familiar, but using it is difficult.

Move from recognising a word to retrieving it in a new context. Understand vocabulary plateaus.

Try it without the guide: Choose one word you already know. Close the guide and use it in a new sentence. Explain why it fits; try another context tomorrow.

A piece of writing has ideas, but the reader loses the thread.

Try it without the guide: For a Secondary 4 A-Math question you have attempted, locate the first uncertain line. Repair that step, then try a comparable question without the worked answer.

A Science fact is remembered, but the explanation is incomplete.

Connect the evidence to a scientific idea and the resulting change. Follow the Primary Science learning route.

Try it without the guide: Choose a familiar Primary Science example. Explain the evidence, the idea and the result without notes. Then change one condition and explain your prediction.

Check the question, source, date and evidence before combining claims. Explore the World Knowledge research library.

Try it without the guide: Take one claim. Find the source best placed to support it, note its date, and state what remains uncertain. Return to your original question.

Check what the learner can understand and do after support is removed. Understand how education works.

Try it without the guide: Choose one small task the child has practised. Agree on a calm, brief attempt without prompts. Use what happens to choose one next step, then stop.
