Where Can I Check School Merger and Relocation Information in Singapore?

Start with the school’s official announcements and contact pages, and cross-check its current listing through MOE SchoolFinder. For a merger, also read the school’s official history or merger notice. An old directory entry can describe a real school without describing where a pupil should enrol or report today.

Check four details immediately: the effective year, the operating campus, the affected student cohort and the current school name. A relocation, a merger and a temporary or phased campus arrangement are different changes. Read the notice’s student arrangements rather than making plans from the headline alone.

Did you know? Different cohorts can have different arrangements during the same move. Damai Primary School’s relocation notice, for example, describes a two-campus transition and separate arrangements for existing pupils and future Primary 1 entrants. Use this as an example of what to check, not a rule for every relocating school.

Practical checks before you act

Separate the change from the school’s identity

A merger combines school communities; a relocation changes where a school operates. The name may change, remain the same or preserve parts of different histories. Do not infer the present administrative position from a familiar building, an old uniform or a school name appearing in an archived article.

Telok Kurau Primary’s official history records its 2023 merger with Eunos Primary and explains the retained name and site. That is a historical record, not an announcement of a new application exercise. Use the current school’s admissions and contact information for a task you need to complete now.

Match the notice to your child’s cohort

Write down the child’s current level and expected entry year before reading the transition arrangements. Look for separate paragraphs about existing pupils, new Primary 1 intake and any period of overlapping campuses. These may answer different questions even when they appear on the same page.

Damai Primary’s notice says its new Tampines campus starts operating in January 2029 while the Bedok campus continues supporting existing pupils through the stated transition. Its full notice explains which cohorts are affected. A family should therefore check the relevant cohort paragraph, not assume every pupil changes campus on the first opening date.

Check registration information at the right site

Bukit View Primary’s announcement, updated on 13 October 2026, identifies its 2027 relocation and specifically explains the site used for 2027 Primary 1 registration distance. This illustrates why an old campus address can be the wrong basis for a future intake question.

Use the named school’s own current instructions for your case; do not transfer another school’s distance or registration arrangement to it. If a registration document and a general contact page appear to describe different dates, ask the school which campus and cohort each refers to before acting.

Turn the notice into a practical family checklist

Once the relevant campus and date are clear, check reporting instructions, transport arrangements and any school communications addressed to your child. Keep the original notice and later updates together. A general map search may help with a journey, but it cannot determine a child’s school placement.

If the school name in an old learning record differs from the current name, preserve the record and its date. Ask the receiving school what it needs for the handover rather than altering the old document. The purpose is to maintain a clear learning history while using current information for present decisions.

Your next step

Make one dated note containing the current school name, the applicable campus, your child’s cohort and the next action specified by the school. If one item remains unclear, ask that precise question through the official school contact page. Use the directory below for broader navigation, then return to the school’s own notice for the final detail.
