Where Can I Check NUS Dentistry Manual Dexterity Test and Interview Rules?

Start with the NUS Office of Admissions’ Faculty Interview and Test Dates page and go straight to its Dentistry section. It identifies the Manual Dexterity Test (MDT) and Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs), explains the sequence for shortlisted candidates, and tells you where to check an invitation.

Next, use the NUS Programme Prerequisites page for your specific qualification: Singapore-Cambridge A-Levels, an eligible polytechnic diploma, IB, NUS High or the relevant overseas qualification route. General university eligibility and a Dentistry-specific prerequisite are different decisions; check both before applying.

Did you know? The NUS interview page still displays its 2026 MDT and MMI dates. Those dates do not become the schedule for the 2027 intake. NUS also describes a Dentistry Reapplication Opportunity Scheme, with its own rules for candidates who previously attended an assessment.

Practical checks before you act

What is the order of selection assessments?

NUS says shortlisted Dentistry applicants are considered for the MDT; candidates who succeed in the MDT may then be invited to an admissions interview conducted as MMIs. Treat these as distinct stages rather than a single assessment with one result. An MDT invitation is not an offer of a place.

Read the instructions inside your own invitation, including timing, what to bring and any procedure for rescheduling. The faculty FAQ explains that candidates need to complete the required assessment steps. If an unexpected conflict arises, use the official faculty or admissions contact route shown in the current instructions rather than rely on peers’ assumptions.

Where will I know if I am shortlisted?

The NUS Office of Admissions says shortlisted candidates receive information through its Applicant Portal; applicants who supply a valid Singapore mobile number may also receive an SMS alert. The portal and electronic invitation are the authoritative record, not an unverified social media post predicting interview batches.

After applying, periodically check the portal and ensure your contact details remain accurate. Download or retain the official invitation where instructed. If a 2026 schedule appears on the site, do not book travel or miss school based on it for a different admission year.

Are all academic qualifications treated alike?

No. NUS maintains separate admissions routes and programme prerequisite tables for A-Level, IB, polytechnic, NUS High and international qualifications. Some overseas qualifications have particular restrictions for Dentistry; a family should not assume acceptance for all programmes merely because it has met NUS’s general academic entry conditions.

Read the exact qualification and result-release requirements for the intake. For example, NUS publishes special timing instructions for certain May-session IB applicants to Dentistry. Eligibility to submit an application does not settle selection: test results, interviews and competition for places still matter.

What about a previous unsuccessful application?

NUS notes a Dentistry Reapplication Opportunity Scheme (DROS) for relevant previous candidates who attended the MDT and/or MMI, with effect from 2025. That does not mean all returning candidates bypass normal checks or receive preferential admission. The exact permitted route and portfolio instructions must be read at the time of reapplication.

Your next step

Write down three separate checks: the applicant’s qualification-specific Dentistry prerequisites, the current admissions window, and any portal instructions for the MDT and MMIs. Keep copies of official notifications and confirm the correct year before planning assessments.

For an understanding of Singapore university pathways, begin with the Singapore School Pathways and Calendar, and rely on NUS for individual admissions decisions.

The same learning habit can travel across subjects, while each subject keeps its own methods. These routes help you notice a difficulty, understand one part of it, and return to something you can do.

A word is familiar, but using it is difficult.

Move from recognising a word to retrieving it in a new context. Understand vocabulary plateaus.

Try it without the guide: Choose one word you already know. Close the guide and use it in a new sentence. Explain why it fits; try another context tomorrow.

A piece of writing has ideas, but the reader loses the thread.

Make the order of events and the links between sentences clear. Explore composition writing.

Try it without the guide: Choose one short paragraph. Read the relevant explanation, close it, and revise the paragraph. Ask someone to tell you what happened and why.

The Mathematics seems familiar, but marks still disappear.

Find the first point where the working stops being reliable. Find Secondary 4 A-Math mark leakage.

Try it without the guide: For a Secondary 4 A-Math question you have attempted, locate the first uncertain line. Repair that step, then try a comparable question without the worked answer.

A Science fact is remembered, but the explanation is incomplete.

Connect the evidence to a scientific idea and the resulting change. Follow the Primary Science learning route.

Try it without the guide: Choose a familiar Primary Science example. Explain the evidence, the idea and the result without notes. Then change one condition and explain your prediction.

Two accounts of the world seem to disagree.

Check the question, source, date and evidence before combining claims. Explore the World Knowledge research library.

Try it without the guide: Take one claim. Find the source best placed to support it, note its date, and state what remains uncertain. Return to your original question.

Check what the learner can understand and do after support is removed. Understand how education works.

Try it without the guide: Choose one small task the child has practised. Agree on a calm, brief attempt without prompts. Use what happens to choose one next step, then stop.
