Where Can I Check NTU ADM Portfolio and Creative Assignment Requirements?

For the School of Art, Design and Media (ADM) at NTU, use the ADM Admission Requirements page for the current portfolio and assignment briefs. Then use NTU’s undergraduate application process for your qualification-specific university application route.

As reviewed on 17 October 2026, the ADM requirements page is labelled for 2027 entry. Check that year before preparing work. The application procedures list a portfolio, introduction video, creative projects and observational drawing, all additional to NTU’s general requirements.

Did you know? “Portfolio” is not shorthand for the whole ADM submission. Existing creative work and tasks responding to the current assignment brief are different components. Build a checklist from the official instructions so that strong artwork does not distract you from a missing required item.

Practical checks before you act

Keep the admission year on every checklist

Save the current requirements with the year visible. Separate the portfolio you are assembling from work that must answer the current creative assignment. An older successful applicant’s video may be interesting, but it is not authority for this year’s task, duration or submission format.

Make one row for each required component and record its official specification, your working file, final export and submission status. This is an organising suggestion, not an extra application requirement. It helps you see whether a missing task needs creative work or whether a completed task simply needs the correct export.

Make your own contribution unmistakable

ADM’s current instructions call for original applicant work, exclude AI-assisted work for this submission and require your role to be identified in collaborative projects. Check those statements before including a piece that involved other people or a generative tool.

Keep original working files and make honest notes about what you personally made. If you are uncertain whether a tool or collaboration fits the rules, ask ADM before submitting it. Do not relabel someone else’s contribution as your own or assume that a polished final image explains how it was created.

Read each task’s technical instructions separately

The ADM page gives different specifications for different media and assignments. Check the portfolio document, moving-image or audio work, introduction video, creative assignment and drawing against their respective instructions. A limit stated for one kind of file should not be carried over to another.

For the observational drawing, the current brief requires direct observation and non-digital original materials, rather than drawing from photographs. Read the full brief before beginning. For every component, open the exported file yourself, check orientation and legibility, and test any sound or playback. Keep an untouched copy of the final version you submit.

Join up the two administrative routes

NTU’s application-process page explains choosing the portal for your qualification and accessing Check Status. Use that route alongside ADM’s additional-material instructions; neither a completed university form nor a folder of artwork proves that both processes are complete.

NTU’s deadlines vary by applicant group. Record the deadline belonging to your qualification and intended admission year. ADM’s procedures specify online submission, do not accept work by email attachment and warn that late work will not be reviewed. Leave time to resolve an upload problem and retain whatever confirmation the portal provides.

Take one question further

The same learning habit can travel across subjects, while each subject keeps its own methods. These routes help you notice a difficulty, understand one part of it, and return to something you can do.

A word is familiar, but using it is difficult.

Move from recognising a word to retrieving it in a new context. Understand vocabulary plateaus.

Try it without the guide: Choose one word you already know. Close the guide and use it in a new sentence. Explain why it fits; try another context tomorrow.

A piece of writing has ideas, but the reader loses the thread.

Make the order of events and the links between sentences clear. Explore composition writing.

Try it without the guide: Choose one short paragraph. Read the relevant explanation, close it, and revise the paragraph. Ask someone to tell you what happened and why.

The Mathematics seems familiar, but marks still disappear.

Find the first point where the working stops being reliable. Find Secondary 4 A-Math mark leakage.

Try it without the guide: For a Secondary 4 A-Math question you have attempted, locate the first uncertain line. Repair that step, then try a comparable question without the worked answer.

A Science fact is remembered, but the explanation is incomplete.

Connect the evidence to a scientific idea and the resulting change. Follow the Primary Science learning route.

Try it without the guide: Choose a familiar Primary Science example. Explain the evidence, the idea and the result without notes. Then change one condition and explain your prediction.

Two accounts of the world seem to disagree.

Check the question, source, date and evidence before combining claims. Explore the World Knowledge research library.

Try it without the guide: Take one claim. Find the source best placed to support it, note its date, and state what remains uncertain. Return to your original question.

There is plenty of help, but independence is hard to see.

Check what the learner can understand and do after support is removed. Understand how education works.

Try it without the guide: Choose one small task the child has practised. Agree on a calm, brief attempt without prompts. Use what happens to choose one next step, then stop.
