Where Can I Check NAFA Diploma Portfolio and Audition Requirements?

Check NAFA diploma portfolio and audition requirements through the official Diploma Admissions page, then select the relevant faculty’s entry requirements. The assessment route depends on the exact diploma; there is no single creative-submission checklist suitable for every NAFA applicant.

Read the academic and English requirements alongside the creative assessment, application route and intended intake. Art and Design, Performing Arts and Arts Management have different instructions. Also check whether a specific entry pathway changes which standard assessment requirements apply to you.

Did you know? The Diploma in Arts Management asks for a personal statement rather than the standard Art and Design portfolio. Choosing the programme first can save you from preparing an impressive submission that does not answer the actual admission task.

Practical checks before you act

Choose the correct programme and entry pathway

Begin with the complete diploma title, not just “NAFA arts”. Open its curriculum information and the matching faculty admissions page. A foundation programme, diploma and bachelor’s degree are different qualification routes; their forms and assessment requirements should not be mixed.

The diploma overview also lists EAE and specific direct pathways for relevant ITE students. Some eligible pathways have different portfolio arrangements. Check the conditions attached to your route before assuming either that a portfolio is compulsory or that you are exempt. Academic eligibility and a creative assessment are separate checks.

Use the Art and Design instructions as a preparation brief

For the standard Art and Design portfolio route, the current page requests 10–15 recent original works from at least two listed categories. It asks for evidence of creative development and process, labels identifying each work and a short statement of intent. Check the live page for the exact file rules and required information.

NAFA states that the work must be created solely by the applicant, not copied or generated by AI tools. Select work you can explain honestly. A useful organising method is to place each piece beside a note about its idea, materials and development, then check whether the selection actually meets the requested categories.

The same official page explains an admission-test alternative. Read that route’s own format if it is the one you intend to use; a portfolio checklist does not describe what happens during the test.

Read the exact performing-arts subsection

The Performing Arts page separates Music, Music Teaching, Dance and Theatre requirements. Its music route describes pre-screening followed by a final audition for shortlisted applicants, with video submissions for instrumentalists and vocalists or a composition portfolio for composers. Do not assume that all performing-arts applicants follow that music process.

For the selected diploma and specialism, check the repertoire or task, recording requirements, supporting documents and any live assessment. Make a small rehearsal-and-submission plan from those instructions. If a technical requirement is unclear, ask admissions before recording everything rather than guessing from a different institution’s audition.

Give Arts Management and conditional offers their own checks

The Arts Management page currently requests a 500-word personal statement and makes a testimonial optional. It describes interest in the arts, relevant experiences, future aspirations and written communication as matters considered. Respond to that brief in your own voice instead of submitting a visual portfolio merely because it is an arts institution.

Finally, read the academic and English evidence required for your qualification. If an offer is conditional, identify the condition and the date for supplying proof. A successful creative assessment does not mean that outstanding qualification requirements can be ignored; ask NAFA to clarify any uncertain evidence before the deadline.

Take one question further

The same learning habit can travel across subjects, while each subject keeps its own methods. These routes help you notice a difficulty, understand one part of it, and return to something you can do.

A word is familiar, but using it is difficult.

Move from recognising a word to retrieving it in a new context. Understand vocabulary plateaus.

Try it without the guide: Choose one word you already know. Close the guide and use it in a new sentence. Explain why it fits; try another context tomorrow.

A piece of writing has ideas, but the reader loses the thread.

Make the order of events and the links between sentences clear. Explore composition writing.

Try it without the guide: Choose one short paragraph. Read the relevant explanation, close it, and revise the paragraph. Ask someone to tell you what happened and why.

The Mathematics seems familiar, but marks still disappear.

Find the first point where the working stops being reliable. Find Secondary 4 A-Math mark leakage.

Try it without the guide: For a Secondary 4 A-Math question you have attempted, locate the first uncertain line. Repair that step, then try a comparable question without the worked answer.

A Science fact is remembered, but the explanation is incomplete.

Connect the evidence to a scientific idea and the resulting change. Follow the Primary Science learning route.

Try it without the guide: Choose a familiar Primary Science example. Explain the evidence, the idea and the result without notes. Then change one condition and explain your prediction.

Two accounts of the world seem to disagree.

Check the question, source, date and evidence before combining claims. Explore the World Knowledge research library.

Try it without the guide: Take one claim. Find the source best placed to support it, note its date, and state what remains uncertain. Return to your original question.

There is plenty of help, but independence is hard to see.

Check what the learner can understand and do after support is removed. Understand how education works.

Try it without the guide: Choose one small task the child has practised. Agree on a calm, brief attempt without prompts. Use what happens to choose one next step, then stop.
