Where Can I Find MOE Tuition Grant Information? | Eligibility, Applications and Agreement Conditions

Did you know? The MOE Tuition Grant is different from a scholarship or student loan. Begin with MOE’s Tuition Grant Scheme information, then read the tuition-grant instructions issued by the institution offering your course.

Check eligibility, subsidised fees and any agreement obligations as separate questions. NUS’s undergraduate fee guidance explains that eligible Singapore Citizens receive the grant automatically when starting their studies, while Permanent Residents and international students need to apply. Use the instructions for your institution and applicant category.

Your next step is to record the course, citizenship or residency status and any previous subsidised tertiary study. Ask the institution which eligibility checks and application steps apply. Before accepting an agreement, read its full conditions and use MOE’s Tuition Grant and Scholarships portal and official enquiry route for unresolved questions.

Start with the programme and applicant category

Check whether the programme participates in the relevant scheme. Record your status as requested by the institution, and disclose previous tertiary study when the eligibility process asks for it.

A fee table showing a subsidised amount does not itself confirm an individual’s grant eligibility. Ask the financial-aid or student-finance office about your own record.

Compare the right fee columns

Locate the official fee table for the course and intake. Compare the applicable subsidised and non-subsidised columns without treating the difference as a complete estimate of living costs.

Keep miscellaneous fees, accommodation and other expenses separate. Scholarships and loans may have their own conditions even where a Tuition Grant also applies.

Read any obligations before accepting

NUS’s guidance states that Permanent Residents and international students receiving the grant have a post-graduation work obligation. Read the applicable MOE agreement to understand the actual conditions.

Ask MOE about terms you do not understand, including questions involving further study, changes in status or inability to meet an obligation. Do not rely on an informal summary when deciding whether to sign.

Follow the institution’s application timetable

Use the current institution-issued instructions for application and signing. The MOE portal states that new Tuition Grant applicants must log in with Singpass; follow its official guidance if you need assistance.

Save the application record, agreement and confirmation. If a course transfer or withdrawal is being considered later, ask the responsible office how it affects your funding before making the change.

The Mathematics seems familiar, but marks still disappear.

Find the first point where the working stops being reliable. Find Secondary 4 A-Math mark leakage.

Try it without the guide: For a Secondary 4 A-Math question you have attempted, locate the first uncertain line. Repair that step, then try a comparable question without the worked answer.

A Science fact is remembered, but the explanation is incomplete.

Connect the evidence to a scientific idea and the resulting change. Follow the Primary Science learning route.

Try it without the guide: Choose a familiar Primary Science example. Explain the evidence, the idea and the result without notes. Then change one condition and explain your prediction.

Two accounts of the world seem to disagree.

Check the question, source, date and evidence before combining claims. Explore the World Knowledge research library.

Try it without the guide: Take one claim. Find the source best placed to support it, note its date, and state what remains uncertain. Return to your original question.

There is plenty of help, but independence is hard to see.

Check what the learner can understand and do after support is removed. Understand how education works.

Try it without the guide: Choose one small task the child has practised. Agree on a calm, brief attempt without prompts. Use what happens to choose one next step, then stop.
