Where Can Singapore Applicants Find QAA-Recognised Access to HE Diploma Courses?

Singapore applicants can use the official Access to HE course search to find QAA-recognised Access to Higher Education Diploma courses. Search by course, subject or location, and use the distance-learning option where relevant. A search result is a starting point for enquiries, not confirmation that a provider can enrol someone studying from Singapore.

Next, contact the course provider about its entry requirements, study arrangements and application process. At the same time, ask your intended university whether it accepts that exact Access to HE Diploma for the degree you want. Course recognition and acceptance for a particular university course are different checks.

Did you know “Access to HE Diploma” is a specific qualification, not a general name for every foundation programme? QAA’s explanation of the Diploma describes its role in preparing learners for degree-level study. Check the full qualification title before assuming a similarly named preparation course belongs to this route.

Check the answers before treating a course as an option

You should be able to name the qualification, confirm that the provider can enrol you in your actual location, explain how assessment works, and identify a university course that will consider it. An unanswered item is a question to resolve, not a reason to infer eligibility.

Search for the qualification you actually need

Start with the degree subject you hope to pursue, then search for a relevant Diploma. Copy the full title and provider name into your notes. A broad subject label is useful for discovering options, but it is not enough to establish that two courses have identical content.

Keep the course-search entry and the provider’s detailed course page together. If a brochure uses a different title, ask which qualification is awarded. This is especially important when comparing an Access to HE Diploma with a university foundation year or another preparation programme.

Confirm what studying from Singapore would involve

A distance-learning filter helps you find courses to investigate. It does not establish whether every part can be completed from Singapore. Ask the provider whether it accepts your circumstances and whether attendance, supervised assessments, practical work or examinations require travel.

Request the teaching timetable, time zone, assessment arrangements and expected pace. Be specific about where you will be living while studying. A clear answer about delivery is more useful than assuming that the word “online” means there are no location-dependent requirements.

Ask the receiving university about the exact Diploma

QAA’s course-choice guidance advises checking that the chosen Diploma is suitable for the intended university course. Send admissions the exact Diploma title and provider, the proposed degree and entry year. Ask what subject content and achievement requirements would apply.

Keep that response with your shortlist. A positive answer about one degree does not automatically cover another degree, institution or intake. If you have not yet chosen a university, mark acceptance as unconfirmed rather than relying on a general claim that the qualification leads to university.

Separate Diploma enrolment from the later degree application

The official application guidance directs learners to contact the course provider. Providers supply their own process and prerequisites, and start dates vary. Ask what evidence of previous learning they need from you, rather than assuming a Singapore qualification is automatically accepted or rejected.

Applying for the Diploma is not the same as applying for the eventual degree. For that later stage, our UCAS application source guide helps you find the undergraduate application route and current instructions. Check which route your chosen degree actually uses and plan the two stages separately.

Your next useful step

Open the official course search and select one relevant result. Send the provider your location and qualification background, and send the intended university the exact Diploma details. Compare the two replies before making plans; each organisation is answering a different part of the pathway.
