Where Can I Find NUS Medicine Focused Skills Assessment Information?

Find NUS Medicine Focused Skills Assessment (FSA) information on the faculty’s admissions-assessment page and FSA format page. Use the former for dates and attendance arrangements, and the latter to understand the assessment activities. This guide concerns undergraduate NUS Medicine, not Duke-NUS graduate entry.

The faculty currently lists 2027 FSA dates as 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 12 and 13 April 2027. Shortlisted applicants must attend in person and should check their NUS application account for their invitation. A published set of dates is not an individual appointment.

Did you know? NUS labels its Situational Judgement Test as discontinued from 2026. Do not build a current assessment checklist from an older account that says both FSA and SJT are required. Follow the current faculty page and the instructions issued to you.

Practical checks before you act

Read the invitation as your working document

Save the invitation and check the assigned session, reporting instructions and identification requirements. Keep this document distinct from a general web calendar. If you are comparing several universities, label each assessment by institution and programme rather than combining all interview advice into one list.

For the wider application sequence and qualification checks, use the existing admissions guides below. Being eligible to apply, being shortlisted and receiving an offer are separate decisions. An assessment invitation should not be described to family or school as a confirmed university place.

Understand the format without inventing questions

The FSA page describes role-play, task-based, group and interview activities, intended to explore aptitude and values. It says academic or medical knowledge is not tested. Read that distinction before turning preparation into memorising medical facts or collecting supposedly guaranteed station questions.

As a sensible reflection exercise, explain a real example of teamwork, an uncertain decision or receiving difficult feedback. Identify what you actually did and what you learnt. Do not manufacture a dramatic experience or rehearse a borrowed personal story; clear, honest reflection remains yours when the question changes.

Plan attendance before making travel commitments

The faculty says assessment dates are fixed, with no alternative dates outside the published set. Rescheduling within that set depends on availability and a valid, substantiated reason with proof; travel is not a valid reason. Read the faculty’s stated request procedure if a genuine conflict arises.

Before booking a competing commitment, compare the current assessment window with your calendar. If clarification is needed, state the exact conflict and wait for an official response. Sending a request is not approval, so keep the original appointment in your plan until a change is confirmed.

Allow for the whole session, not only station time

Use the invitation’s reporting and release arrangements when planning transport. The faculty’s public material discusses assessment activity as well as waiting and registration; do not treat a station-duration estimate as a promise of when you can leave. Check the latest instructions for what to bring and what happens to devices.

A short personal checklist can cover the invitation, identification, route and one reliable way to check updates beforehand. Families can help with logistics while leaving the applicant’s reflections and responses their own. Avoid scheduling a tight onward journey around an assumed finishing time.

What to do next

Open both FSA pages, confirm the intended admissions year and check the applicant account for an actual invitation. Record the assigned session and any unresolved logistical question. Use the wider guides for application eligibility; use NUS’s own instructions for this assessment.

Take one question further

The same learning habit can travel across subjects, while each subject keeps its own methods. These routes help you notice a difficulty, understand one part of it, and return to something you can do.

A word is familiar, but using it is difficult.

Move from recognising a word to retrieving it in a new context. Understand vocabulary plateaus.

Try it without the guide: Choose one word you already know. Close the guide and use it in a new sentence. Explain why it fits; try another context tomorrow.

A piece of writing has ideas, but the reader loses the thread.

Try it without the guide: Choose one short paragraph. Read the relevant explanation, close it, and revise the paragraph. Ask someone to tell you what happened and why.

The Mathematics seems familiar, but marks still disappear.

Try it without the guide: For a Secondary 4 A-Math question you have attempted, locate the first uncertain line. Repair that step, then try a comparable question without the worked answer.

A Science fact is remembered, but the explanation is incomplete.

Connect the evidence to a scientific idea and the resulting change. Follow the Primary Science learning route.

Try it without the guide: Choose a familiar Primary Science example. Explain the evidence, the idea and the result without notes. Then change one condition and explain your prediction.

Two accounts of the world seem to disagree.

Check the question, source, date and evidence before combining claims. Explore the World Knowledge research library.

Try it without the guide: Take one claim. Find the source best placed to support it, note its date, and state what remains uncertain. Return to your original question.

Try it without the guide: Choose one small task the child has practised. Agree on a calm, brief attempt without prompts. Use what happens to choose one next step, then stop.
