Where Can I Check Polytechnic JAE Cut-Off Points? | CourseFinder, ELR2B2 and Historical Ranges

Check the Ministry of Education’s CourseFinder first when you want current polytechnic course information and a previous intake’s JAE score range. Filter by institution, area of interest, aggregate type and score so that you are comparing the right courses rather than one long, mixed list.

For a fixed record, open MOE’s 2026 JAE courses document. It labels the displayed ranges as the previous year’s JAE results, which makes the year of the evidence clear. The JAE appeal page is the place to check the latest posted course ranges once results are released.

Read every range as historical guidance, not a promised admission score. First confirm the course’s minimum entry requirements and the correct aggregate type; then consider the range, your ranked choices and the possibility that demand and vacancies will change.

Read the historical range correctly

A course range records the aggregate scores of admitted students for a stated intake. It is useful because it shows what happened, but it cannot reserve a place in the next exercise. Course popularity, applicants’ choices and available places can move the range. Always keep the year beside any number you copy into a spreadsheet or family discussion.

The lower and upper ends are not separate “safe” and “unsafe” promises. They describe that intake’s outcomes. Use them to build a sensible spread of choices, including options that you would genuinely accept, rather than treating one endpoint as a guaranteed cut-off.

Keep eligibility separate from competitiveness

Your ELR2B2 aggregate is only one part of the check. A course may also specify minimum grades for particular subjects. Meeting those minimum entry requirements lets an application be considered; it does not guarantee posting. On appeal, MOE says applicants must meet both the course requirements and the last admitted applicant’s score, and places still depend on vacancies and the institution’s assessment.

Did you know that two courses with similar names may use different aggregate types or subject requirements? Open each course record instead of transferring a range from a neighbouring course. Our polytechnic course source guide helps you compare official institution information without mixing course identities.

Do not carry O-Level ranges into the SEC era unchanged

Current JAE ELR2B2 ranges belong to the present O-Level admissions framework. Students taking the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate from 2027 should use MOE’s announced post-secondary admissions information for their cohort. The subjects and admission measures are changing, so an older O-Level range can offer context but is not a future SEC threshold.

Use our After SEC 2028 route map for that transition, then return to MOE for the latest cohort-specific rules.

The same learning habit can travel across subjects, while each subject keeps its own methods. These routes help you notice a difficulty, understand one part of it, and return to something you can do.

A word is familiar, but using it is difficult.

Move from recognising a word to retrieving it in a new context. Understand vocabulary plateaus.

Try it without the guide: Choose one word you already know. Close the guide and use it in a new sentence. Explain why it fits; try another context tomorrow.

A piece of writing has ideas, but the reader loses the thread.

Make the order of events and the links between sentences clear. Explore composition writing.

Try it without the guide: Choose one short paragraph. Read the relevant explanation, close it, and revise the paragraph. Ask someone to tell you what happened and why.

The Mathematics seems familiar, but marks still disappear.

Find the first point where the working stops being reliable. Find Secondary 4 A-Math mark leakage.

Try it without the guide: For a Secondary 4 A-Math question you have attempted, locate the first uncertain line. Repair that step, then try a comparable question without the worked answer.

A Science fact is remembered, but the explanation is incomplete.

Connect the evidence to a scientific idea and the resulting change. Follow the Primary Science learning route.

Try it without the guide: Choose a familiar Primary Science example. Explain the evidence, the idea and the result without notes. Then change one condition and explain your prediction.

Two accounts of the world seem to disagree.

Check the question, source, date and evidence before combining claims. Explore the World Knowledge research library.

Try it without the guide: Take one claim. Find the source best placed to support it, note its date, and state what remains uncertain. Return to your original question.

There is plenty of help, but independence is hard to see.

Check what the learner can understand and do after support is removed. Understand how education works.

Try it without the guide: Choose one small task the child has practised. Agree on a calm, brief attempt without prompts. Use what happens to choose one next step, then stop.
