Where Can I Check Junior College Cut-Off Points? | SchoolFinder, JAE and Historical Scores

Use MOE SchoolFinder to check the published net aggregate score ranges for junior colleges and Millennia Institute. Then open MOE’s JC and MI admissions page to see which JAE year the figures describe.

The displayed scores are historical reference points, not guaranteed admission cut-offs for the next exercise. MOE’s current guidance says the 2026 JAE net aggregate scores are a reference for 2027 applicants; the actual 2027 ranges depend on applicants’ O-Level results and course choices and will be updated after JAE posting concludes.

Check eligibility before competitiveness. Confirm the current admission criteria, the course or stream, your gross and net aggregate score and any bonus points shown in your official JAE materials. A past range cannot make an ineligible application eligible, and meeting the last admitted score does not guarantee a place when vacancies are limited.

Read the range by JAE year

A published range summarises the net aggregate scores of students posted in a completed JAE. It helps a family see recent competition, but it is not a permanent entry score. Demand, applicants’ ordering of choices and available places can change the last admitted score.

Did you know that MOE updates the new JAE course ranges on posting-results release day? Keep the old range for planning, then return to SchoolFinder for the completed exercise’s actual outcome. Do not circulate a screenshot without its year.

Separate eligibility from selection

Admission criteria determine whether a student may apply for a pathway. The historical range describes who was posted after eligible applicants made their choices. These are different checks. Your official Form A identifies courses for which you are eligible, while posting still depends on merit, choices and vacancies.

Gross aggregate score and net aggregate score are also different. MOE explains that applicable bonus points reduce the gross aggregate for posting. Use the figure stated in the current JAE instructions rather than comparing a raw school result to a net historical range.

Do not carry today’s score system into 2028 unchanged

MOE has announced changes to JC and MI admission criteria from 2028 as Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate cohorts enter post-secondary admissions. Current O-Level JAE ranges remain evidence about their own exercises; they are not future SEC thresholds.

For the transition, use the After SEC 2028 admissions guide. Then return to MOE for the rules applying to the student’s cohort.

Take one question further

The same learning habit can travel across subjects, while each subject keeps its own methods. These routes help you notice a difficulty, understand one part of it, and return to something you can do.

A word is familiar, but using it is difficult.

Move from recognising a word to retrieving it in a new context. Understand vocabulary plateaus.

Try it without the guide: Choose one word you already know. Close the guide and use it in a new sentence. Explain why it fits; try another context tomorrow.

A piece of writing has ideas, but the reader loses the thread.

Make the order of events and the links between sentences clear. Explore composition writing.

Try it without the guide: Choose one short paragraph. Read the relevant explanation, close it, and revise the paragraph. Ask someone to tell you what happened and why.

The Mathematics seems familiar, but marks still disappear.

Find the first point where the working stops being reliable. Find Secondary 4 A-Math mark leakage.

Try it without the guide: For a Secondary 4 A-Math question you have attempted, locate the first uncertain line. Repair that step, then try a comparable question without the worked answer.

A Science fact is remembered, but the explanation is incomplete.

Connect the evidence to a scientific idea and the resulting change. Follow the Primary Science learning route.

Try it without the guide: Choose a familiar Primary Science example. Explain the evidence, the idea and the result without notes. Then change one condition and explain your prediction.

Two accounts of the world seem to disagree.

Check the question, source, date and evidence before combining claims. Explore the World Knowledge research library.

Try it without the guide: Take one claim. Find the source best placed to support it, note its date, and state what remains uncertain. Return to your original question.

There is plenty of help, but independence is hard to see.

Check what the learner can understand and do after support is removed. Understand how education works.

Try it without the guide: Choose one small task the child has practised. Agree on a calm, brief attempt without prompts. Use what happens to choose one next step, then stop.
