Secondary 1 Posting Results 2026 | Check Your School by Singpass, SMS or Primary School

For the 2026 Secondary 1 posting results, families should use MOE’s official S1 Portal, a local-number SMS if provided, or the child’s primary school. These were the three channels confirmed for the 2025 cohort. The precise 2026 posting-results date must be announced separately by MOE; do not confuse it with the tentative PSLE results window.

The next step after allocation is to read the posted secondary school’s 2027 onboarding instructions. Under the preceding exercise, pupils did not need to visit their secondary school on posting-results day. The school website and Parents Gateway provided the next practical steps.

Quick answers:

  • Check the current MOE S1 Posting announcement, not a past-year screenshot.
  • Use a parent’s Singpass for the official S1 Portal, or the eligible SMS or primary-school route.
  • Verify the actual posted school and then its 2027 booklist, reporting and orientation notice.
  • The 2027 secondary school year begins Monday, 4 January 2027; school reporting times vary.

1. PSLE results and S1 posting results have different dates

The PSLE results tell the pupil their four Achievement Levels, the overall score and the ordinary Posting Group eligibility. After eligible families submit school preferences, MOE must process the Secondary 1 Posting Exercise before the actual secondary-school allocation can be announced. The two results releases are different events, so they should not share one invented deadline.

SEAB’s 2026 important-dates page gives a tentative PSLE release window of 24–25 November 2026. The 2026 Secondary 1 posting results date is not confirmed by that PSLE window. In the preceding exercise, PSLE results were released on 25 November 2025 and S1 posting results on 19 December 2025. Those are completed 2025 dates, not dates to copy into the 2026 family calendar.

Bookmark MOE’s S1 Posting website and follow the primary school’s current announcements. Once a confirmed results release time is published, arrange for an adult to be available to check the allocation and follow the school-specific next steps.

2. Route 1: use the official S1 Portal and a parent’s Singpass

For the completed 2025 S1 exercise, MOE made results accessible through its S1 Portal with a parent’s Singpass. Use the current portal link from the official MOE S1 Posting page rather than a forwarded login page, an old S1-IS PDF link or a search result that may direct to an outdated interface.

Before the results period, confirm the parent’s Singpass app and compatible browser work. If an authentication attempt fails, use official Singpass support; do not send passwords or verification codes to someone offering to retrieve the child’s allocation. A primary school can help parents who cannot access the result online.

When the allocation is shown, check the pupil’s name and the exact school. Keep the posting record securely. Then open the posted secondary school’s current website for reporting information; seeing the allocation does not automatically complete all school-level registration steps.

3. Route 2: check SMS if the family supplied a local number

MOE’s 2025 posting instructions provided an SMS route for applicants who entered a local mobile number during their S1 school-choice submission. This was an optional way to receive the result, not a universal promise that every family would get a text message. The 2026 announcement will confirm any current arrangements.

If the SMS does not arrive, check the official portal or ask the primary school rather than assuming the child has not been posted. Messages can be delayed, the parent’s phone may be unreachable, or the number supplied may have changed. Do not rely solely on an SMS arriving at exactly the announced minute.

Be careful with any message asking the family to click a payment link or provide Singpass credentials to release a result. The posting result is obtained through an official government or school channel. Compare any SMS against the MOE posting information if the wording seems unfamiliar.

4. Route 3: ask the pupil’s primary school for the result

MOE listed the student’s primary school as the third official channel for the completed 2025 exercise. This is important for parents who do not use Singpass, whose phone cannot receive SMS or who need help reading their child’s posting record.

Contact the primary school through its official number or communication platform, after MOE’s announced release time. Ask what verification is required and how the school can help the family obtain the result. The primary school cannot provide the allocation before the authorities release it.

If the family is uncertain about a Direct School Admission allocation, ask the primary school to explain what the official record means. A successful DSA outcome is not the same as a pupil participating in six ordinary school choices, and the family should use the correct reporting arrangements.

5. Do pupils go to their secondary schools on posting-results day?

In the 2025 S1 exercise, MOE explicitly said pupils did not need to report physically to the posted secondary school when the allocation was announced. Instead, families were directed to the posted school’s website for the reporting details, booklist and the purchase of books and uniforms. This distinction prevents an unnecessary trip on a busy results day.

It does not mean that all later registration can be skipped. One school may provide an online enrolment form, another may send Parents Gateway messages, and schools can have different orientation and subject-level arrangements. Check the incoming 2027 cohort’s instructions rather than using a form labelled 2026.

Record the posted school’s official website, contact details and actual campus. Some schools operate multiple campuses or temporary sites, so do not assume the address on an old search result is where the child should report.

6. Parents Gateway and the handover from MOE to the school

The completed 2025 MOE/SEAB announcement stated that families using Parents Gateway would receive instructions from their posted schools from the afternoon of the results release. Those messages help the school communicate enrolment forms and reporting details directly to parents.

Read each new school’s messages and note any response deadline. A subject-level offer, language option or medical/learning support form may be separate from the overall school allocation. If a parent cannot access Parents Gateway, use the posted secondary school’s official contact and request an alternative.

Parents should avoid assuming that the same timetable and online form are used by every secondary school. After the national allocation, school-specific instructions become the operational source for books, uniforms, orientation, class details and any extra information required.

7. Monday 4 January 2027 and the child’s first school day

MOE published Monday, 4 January 2027 as the start of the 2027 school year for Singapore secondary schools. This is a confirmed academic-calendar date, unlike the still-unannounced 2026 Secondary 1 posting result release. The school will specify the actual time, attire, entry location and orientation plan for its incoming pupils.

Families can use the school website to prepare the journey, but should wait for confirmation before buying specialised materials or assuming an older year’s orientation details. Test the journey at the time the child needs to arrive and consider whether the return trip changes after CCA.

If the child cannot report on the first school day because of a valid reason, the preceding MOE guidance told parents to contact the posted secondary school directly after receiving the allocation and explicitly confirm they were taking up the place. Follow the current 2027 school instructions and keep the acknowledgement.

8. Questions families ask about checking posting results

Is the 2026 S1 posting date definitely 19 December? No. That was the result date for the previous cohort in 2025. Wait for MOE’s announcement for the 2026 cohort.

Can a parent use Singpass? The preceding S1 exercise allowed the result to be retrieved through the S1 Portal via parental Singpass. Use the current official MOE page.

What if no SMS arrives? Check the official portal or ask the primary school; SMS depends on having supplied an eligible local number and the current arrangements.

Do pupils report to the posted school immediately? They did not need to physically report on results day in 2025; check the posted school’s 2027 onboarding instructions.

When does Secondary 1 begin? MOE’s 2027 school calendar starts on Monday, 4 January 2027. The actual reporting time is provided by the school.
