Parents Guide to PSLE Results and Choosing Secondary Schools | One World International School (Secondary)

One World International School (OWIS) has two campuses offering secondary education in Singapore: Nanyang Campus at 21 Jurong West Street 81 and Digital Campus at 27 Punggol Field Walk. Parents considering the school after the 2026 PSLE results should check which campus offers the child’s actual grade and preferred curriculum. OWIS is not part of the ordinary MOE Secondary 1 Posting Exercise, so it has no historical PG1, PG2 or PG3 cut-off. Its direct international-school admission, fees and the child’s citizenship permissions must be checked separately.

Both OWIS Nanyang and Digital Campus offer Cambridge IGCSE in Grades 9–10 and the IB Diploma in Grades 11–12, following Cambridge-based lower-secondary education. Digital Campus also advertises a Cambridge International A-Level pathway for Grades 11–12, subject to current availability. The published 2026–27 fee table lists Nanyang annual Grades 7–12 tuition at S$27,774, compared with a Digital Campus Grades 7–10 total of S$35,065 including its building fee. Newton Campus serves younger pupils and is not advertised as a secondary campus. Neither a strong PSLE score nor an online application guarantees enrolment.

Quick summary for parents
• Nanyang Campus — 21 Jurong West Street 81, Singapore 649075
• Digital Campus — 27 Punggol Field Walk, Singapore 828649
• Newton Campus — early childhood and primary, not the current secondary option
• Cambridge-based lower-secondary learning, IGCSE Grades 9–10 and IBDP Grades 11–12
• Digital Campus also describes registered International A-Levels for Grades 11–12
• 2026–27 fee structures differ sharply by campus; check building charges and transport
• No ordinary PSLE cut-off; direct admissions and applicable MOE citizenship approval must be confirmed

The first decision is which campus a child will attend

OWIS operates more than one site, and parents should not use the school name alone as a complete address. Nanyang is in Jurong West while Digital Campus is in Punggol. Both advertise education through Grade 12. The Newton campus at 99 Bukit Timah Road serves younger pupils, so parents should not assume it offers a Secondary 1-equivalent place simply because it is closer to home.

A household in Punggol might find Digital Campus practical while a family in the west may prefer Nanyang. But a short map distance does not establish the school-day journey. Test the morning route, the final walk and a return after extracurricular activities. Ask whether the chosen campus has available places at the child’s assigned grade, and whether a future transfer between campuses is permitted.

There is no ordinary PSLE cut-off for OWIS

Singapore’s PSLE total Achievement Level score is used in the national Secondary 1 Posting Exercise at participating schools. OWIS is a foreign-system school with its own admissions. There is no official OWIS last-posted PG3 score equivalent to a local school’s historical cut-off. Families should never infer one from an international examination result or from the score range of a school nearby.

A good PSLE score helps explain previous academic learning but does not decide admission, year placement or international-school readiness. Ask the admissions team how it considers age, school transcripts, language needs, current learning and available capacity. The proper route is a school-specific application, not an entry in MOE’s ordinary six-school preference list.

Lower secondary builds toward Cambridge examinations

OWIS describes modified Cambridge learning for Grades 6–8, intended to build the foundations required for Cambridge IGCSE in Grades 9 and 10. Academic topics and assessment methods may be sequenced differently from Singapore’s G1, G2 and G3 syllabuses. A child who has mastered a PSLE word problem may need more practice explaining an investigation in writing, while another child may benefit from extra algebra support.

Ask the school what a new Grade 7 pupil studies in the first term. Which English, Mathematics and Science skills are assumed? How do teachers identify gaps from a different curriculum? What does a school report tell parents? The child’s learning should be supported using actual evidence rather than a claim that a particular examination score predicts all future performance.

Cambridge IGCSE is not the Singapore SEC

OWIS offers the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education for Grades 9 and 10 at both secondary campuses. IGCSE includes external examinations, with subject syllabuses and choices that differ from the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate for local-school pupils. Parents should understand the actual qualification rather than call both simply an O-Level or Secondary 4 course.

Ask how learners choose subjects, what options are compulsory, and how Mathematics, Science, English and language combinations connect to later post-16 qualifications. A child entering secondary school does not need to decide their entire career at twelve. Strong foundations, accurate reasoning, useful feedback and curiosity can preserve more options later.

The IB Diploma is offered at both secondary campuses

OWIS describes the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in Grades 11–12 at Nanyang and Digital Campus. Pupils study demanding subjects and manage longer independent assignments, research and reflection. These activities can suit a student who enjoys connecting ideas, but they require planning, reading stamina and appropriate subject knowledge.

Ask which IB subjects are actually available at each campus and what prerequisites apply. The school’s published IB results describe prior students, not a promise of a particular child’s future grades or university acceptance. University admissions depend on the learner’s own qualifications and the requirements of the course being considered.

Digital Campus also describes an International A-Level route

The school’s 2026–27 Cambridge and fee pages mention an International A-Level pathway at Digital Campus for Grades 11–12, alongside the IBDP. OWIS says the Digital Campus is registered to deliver Cambridge International A-Levels. Parents should separately confirm the current programme’s availability, subject combinations, entry criteria and final fees before planning several years around it.

The IB Diploma and A-Levels have different structures. Neither is universally better for every pupil. A child who prefers depth in certain subjects may have different needs from one who benefits from a broad set of courses. The family should compare the real options of the correct campus, not an assumption that all OWIS programmes exist at every location.

Language support and the child’s academic English matter

OWIS publishes English as an Additional Language support and an Academic English Preparation Programme for Grades 6–8. A child may be comfortable speaking conversational English but still struggle to produce a detailed Science explanation or interpret a difficult Humanities text. This requires targeted teaching rather than embarrassment or the assumption that every unfamiliar word signals a lack of ability.

Ask which English support is included in normal lessons and which carries additional charges. The 2026–27 fee schedule lists separate AEPP and other support-related expenses. A helpful plan should explain how the student enters support, what skills are taught and how progress is assessed. It should also respect the student’s existing language strengths.

Nanyang and Digital Campus have different fees

OWIS Nanyang lists S$27,774 annual tuition for Grades 7–12 in the 2026–27 fee schedule. The school says this includes certain uniform sets, textbooks and scheduled field trips, with conditions and possible extras. It also lists a non-refundable S$1,420 application fee and bus charges that vary by distance. Parents should get an invoice for the child’s actual year and circumstances.

For Digital Campus, the 2026–27 Grades 7–10 table lists S$27,773 tuition and S$7,291 building fee, with a displayed annual total of S$35,065 after the school’s rounding. The published IBDP Grades 11–12 total is S$40,459. Do not compare one campus’s tuition alone with another campus’s tuition plus building costs. Ask about application, transport, activities, devices, sibling discounts and payment conditions.

A school culture should be judged by ordinary days

OWIS describes kindness, international-mindedness, arts, physical education, digital learning and extracurricular opportunities. These may provide a welcoming environment for a child who wants to learn with students from different backgrounds. However, a school website cannot promise that an individual pupil will immediately feel confident or make friends.

Ask what orientation is provided for a new Grade 6 or 7 pupil, how teachers help with social adjustment and which clubs welcome beginners. How are students supported when they make mistakes or have difficulty organising work? A supportive school should help children ask for help without humiliation. It is the daily teaching and relationships that give a programme its value.

Singapore citizenship and MOE permission must be checked

Singapore citizens enrolling in a foreign-system school may need Ministry of Education approval. Parents should declare the child’s citizenship and schooling history accurately to OWIS and ask who handles the required application, what documentation is needed and when any offer becomes unconditional. An admissions enquiry or paid fee does not replace official permission.

If the child is still required to participate in the ordinary MOE S1 Posting Exercise and does not have an approved alternative place, follow the current official instructions. Missing a regular six-school submission deadline while waiting for a private-school decision would create avoidable risk.

Practical transport and the academic calendar

Nanyang Campus is at Jurong West Street 81, while Digital Campus is at Punggol Field Walk. Test the actual journey from home rather than using the estate name as a guarantee of short travel. A pupil may need a bus connection, significant walking or a different return route after a late activity. Check the school bus options and the full annual cost.

International schools can use an academic calendar that differs from the Singapore January school-year start. Ask which date the child would begin, what prior-term records are needed and how teachers will support the transition. A school that looks attractive academically must also allow enough time for meals, sleep, friendships and family life.

PSLE 2026 results day and the next steps

As of 1 November 2026 the results had not been released. SEAB’s 24–25 November release window was tentative, with the confirmed day to be announced officially. The local S1 school-choice period follows the results, while international schools may have different admissions cycles. Do not assume the timelines are identical.

Ask OWIS for the correct campus, grade placement, current vacancies, written fee breakdown and citizenship approval process. Include the child in the conversation: which subjects are interesting, what activities might help them belong, and how will travel affect an ordinary week? The most suitable choice is not necessarily the school with the strongest promotional claim.

Frequently asked questions

Can OWIS be selected through the MOE six-school S1 Portal?

No. OWIS is a direct-admission international-school option and has no ordinary PSLE Posting Group cut-off.

Which OWIS campuses offer secondary school?

Nanyang in Jurong West and Digital Campus in Punggol. Newton is currently described as an early-childhood and primary campus.

Are Nanyang and Punggol fees the same?

No. The published 2026–27 schedules have materially different tuition and building-fee structures. Request a campus-specific invoice.

Does OWIS offer both IGCSE and IB Diploma?

Yes. Both secondary campuses offer IGCSE in Grades 9–10 and IBDP in Grades 11–12.

Are Cambridge International A-Levels available?

Digital Campus advertises a registered International A-Level pathway. Confirm current programme availability and subject choices directly.

Does a good PSLE score guarantee admission?

No. International admission, available places, grade placement, citizenship permission and school policies must still be satisfied.

Final parent decision

Choose the campus that can accept the child into an appropriate year and offers an educational route the pupil wants to learn through. Confirm the complete financial commitment, the citizenship rules, learning support and a sustainable daily routine. A PSLE score is useful prior academic evidence, but it is not an OWIS cut-off or an international-school offer.
