English teaching archive: This page preserves an earlier period of eduKate’s Punggol English programme, including its classroom photographs, reading culture, creative-writing work and wider student activities. Former references to The Sail, Marina Bay, historical staffing and old telephone calls belong to that period. For current class availability, group size, timings and contact details, use the current eduKate Singapore Contact page.
The original programme described small-group English tuition for Primary and Secondary students in Punggol, with an English and Creative Writing curriculum developed around comprehension, composition, reading, examination technique and close tutor feedback.
Earlier versions of this page reported examples of students improving by two grades within a semester. That historical claim is retained here as part of the record, not as a guarantee of any individual learner’s result. Student outcomes depend on starting point, attendance, practice, school context and many other factors.
Speaks fluent English but does not translate that fluency into examination marks?
Not very interested in reading?
Struggling to understand comprehension passages?
Taking too long to plan and write a composition?
Those remain useful diagnostic questions. For present-day support, use the eduKate Singapore Contact page. The former +65 8222 6327 number is no longer the current enquiry route.

There is structure behind English assessment, and the programme described here taught students to make that structure visible in their work. During Punggol English tuition, lessons worked from foundations upward: identify weaknesses, strengthen reading and language knowledge, practise the required form, and then learn to execute more reliably under examination conditions.
It is also about careful strategies during examinations. Planning matters, but good execution comes from repeated practice, useful feedback and a student who increasingly understands why a response works.
During non-examination periods, the programme widened beyond papers. Reading was treated as part of English education rather than an optional extra, and lessons used books, discussion and creative work to help students become more comfortable with language. Earlier versions of this page recorded former students who later studied Literature; that is part of the programme’s history, not a promised destination for present-day students.
The old page was exuberant about books, reading and the range of activities used in lessons. The useful point survives the old marketing language: students need reasons to read, opportunities to discuss what they read, and enough exposure to language that vocabulary, comprehension and writing begin to reinforce one another.
For current English and Creative Writing class information, use the live Contact page. Older versions of this article also listed +65 88231234 with an “SMS/WhatsApp anytime” invitation; present-day communication arrangements should be taken from the current Contact page instead.
The Sail, Marina Bay references on this page describe an earlier eduKate operating period. They are retained as institutional history and should not be read as a current Marina Bay class location.
The page also recorded a wider group of tutors and former students associated with the programme. Current staffing should be checked through the live enquiry route rather than inferred from this historical archive.
