NASA Tube 19 | Launch Readiness | GO, HOLD or NO-GO

Readiness is a decision, not a feeling.

Before launch, teams compare the actual vehicle, crew, weather, ground systems and unresolved issues against agreed conditions for flight.

  • Are critical systems ready?
  • Are open anomalies understood?
  • Does weather remain inside limits?
  • Are crew and ground teams prepared?
  • Should the mission GO, HOLD, recycle or stand down?

A delay can be a successful decision when it protects the mission from an unacceptable unknown.
